HW8: Pinoy OTAKU for Dummies

Ever heard of a craving rock music?
That you'll never even get enough of until you have met the band. With their epic songs going on your mind that you never seem to forget the lyrics. Then there will be a time when you heard that they're going to your country, of course this is a mostly what they call a "once-in-a-lifetime chance".

So what will you do in order to go to an awesome band that you fave for so long although money is something of value here:
a.) Ask your parents politely to give you money in order to go to a concert. (which they won't)
b.) Ask your friends to help you out in borrowing money to go to a concert. (which can be a problem)
c.) Bully on someone weak and take their money. (like that will help)
d.) STEAL!! (OH YEAH!!...now I'm caught as a bad guy)

OK....But don't you dare overdo yourself in being an obsessive fan. Though it simply means that you really show what it takes to be a TRUE FAN of the band you're supporting. While being a Fan of a Favorite Band you'd probably learn about them. For instance you learned that the lead vocalist was German you'll go researching this and that the terms they use. Also, as fans to support you'd probably be buying out their CD Albums, the T-Shirts with the print of the Band's name and Wallpapers to post them on your walls to display your love for them. Then your parents will scold you for being too supportive and they'll tell you its nonsense, meaningless and what does it even benefit.

Yeah...and I get that a lot from my parents since I've had this addiction...anyway I can't control it. It's been a habit of mine to watch more anime as I like. Anyways I like anime that's something I'm proud and passionate in carrying out and supporting those who make Anime to make me watch more Anime.

\(^u^)/ <3ANIME

My family wouldn't understand it but you see it's different here in Philippines they like anime because of the entertainment. So I've done a research an article entitled The Otaku and other 'alternatives' by  mikkieugenio

Based on my opinion:

In Philippines, are just doing things as a habit. Like people indoors, as Anime watchers, and Anime enthusiasts in blogging. Meanwhile for outdoors, these are people who are really dedicated in Anime, being in a Cosplay event, Anime Figure Collectors, and Enjoying Conventions. Which has been their part of their lives being a fan of Anime.

As you can observe Otaku pinoys are still living in their normal lives. Like studying in school, and going for work and other-related activities. It's still a problem that they put so much effort and money on Cosplaying and Collecting Figurines. Just like I just said they're doing these on behalf of their HABIT.

Is it because of Anime that Pinoy's have become like these? Of course, it's mostly the fault of epic storytelling of real life, love life, stories of a characters development, and uncontrollable visual adventures. Which had conquered the minds of many Filipino's. Yeah...late President Marcos might have banned the Voltes V but it didn't stop the Pinoys on erasing it.

The Impact on what the Anime brought to the culture of Pinoys is still here whether the local channels decides to TAGALOG subbed the anime shows, affordable local anime magazines, Anime Figurines and the like in which  can be cheaper. That made much impact among Filipinos in fighting and loving for it. Being fans of Anime had shown socializing benefits and experiencing the emotional attachment to Anime.

Which states by the one who wrote the article...
You’re asking me? To be honest, I never cared being an otaku before. But now, I guess I’m being more and more attracted to become a part of the alternative. I never yearned so much for something before.

So Pinoy's have ways in contacting with anime whether we are rich or poor. Even though we do our daily activities in life we still find time for Anime being a habit of many Filipinos out there. That never really had stop us in encountering a new kind of culture and entertainment. So to simply put it this way we enjoy theses kind of Otaku culture whether you like it or not. It's just something to live up to the Filipino's hobbies rather than die from boredom.
